We also provide engineering, design, and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, along with customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services.

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Customer Service / Fluid Power Support at our Dartmouth, NS location.

In this role, you will assist customers by providing expert advice on a variety of questions and problems. Unlike typical CSR roles, you will build ongoing relationships with customers through repeated contact and consultation. As this is a service and parts center, your ability to quickly and efficiently provide the right parts and solutions—especially during costly equipment breakdowns—is crucial. The role may also include hands-on duties requiring mechanical aptitude.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Inside Sales responsibilities and building ongoing customer relationships
  2. Assisting with the selection of Fluid Power, Fluid Conveyance, mechanical power transmission, and bulk materials handling system components, products, and vendors for new and existing systems
  3. Providing technical sales support to other CSR’s, TSR’s, and Applied personnel as needed
  4. Helping source difficult-to-find products and improve lead times
  5. Product identification, interchanges, and crossovers
  6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the company’s service offerings
  7. Prospecting for new customers and demonstrating product benefits
  8. Ensuring accurate and timely order processing through the computerized system
  9. Maintaining respectful and diplomatic relationships within the company
  10. Taking responsibility for training and professional development
  11. Prioritizing safety and housekeeping
  12. Performing other duties as assigned

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • 2+ years of industrial or fluid power components sales experience
  • Technical Degree, Diploma, or Certificate (preferred but not required)
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Customer service focus with the ability to build relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and utilize resources
  • Self-motivated with limited supervision
  • Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of business principles, company products, services, and SAP ERP system
