Our client located in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a Fluid Power Builder – Senior. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing fluid power phases of projects on time and within budget. This role reports directly to the Production Manager.
This is a dayshift position (40 hours per week).
Timings : 7 am to 3 pm
This is a Temporary to Permanent position.
Pay rate: $ / hr (depending on experience)
Responsibilities :
- Operate in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Possess a thorough understanding of fluid power & pneumatic principles.
- Interpret engineered drawings in AutoCAD & SolidWorks formats—mechanical, schematic, ISO.
- Have knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting systems.
- Build and troubleshoot hydraulics and pneumatics on automated assembly, resistance, and MIG welding equipment.
- Able to bend tubes and thread pipes.
- Work with pipe threading machines and tube benders.
- Have basic knowledge of tube, pipe, and hose routing on fixtures.
- Possess basic welding, brazing, and soldering skills.
- Assist in plant and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all work activities follow procedures or best practices.
- Maintain quality, generate issue lists related to equipment, and provide feedback to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with the project team to improve fluid power efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize fundamentals of fluid power practices to assist engineering in designing cost-effective equipment that meets customer needs.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and Excel for expediting products.
- Travel to customer sites for installation or servicing of equipment, including startup and onsite completion.
- Perform some heavy lifting (up to lbs.), bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Occasional international travel.
- Mentor and lead Junior and Intermediate Fluid Power Builders.
Requirements :
- Post-secondary diploma in Electro-mechanical Engineering (asset).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in assembling, plumbing, and troubleshooting automation.
- Experience in automation / robotics industry.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Fluid Power drawings and schematics.
- Skilled in assembly of complex tooling and system plumbing related to fluid power.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure.
