Job description

Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000 / year (full-time / permanent)

Join On Side Restoration as a Flooring Manager and lead the way in restoring excellence underfoot. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the restoration, installation, and maintenance of a wide range of flooring surfaces across residential and commercial projects. You’ll also be responsible for organizing, merchandising, and maintaining the flooring showroom and warehouse. Your expertise in flooring materials, installation techniques, and project coordination will ensure high-quality results that exceed client expectations. If you’re a hands-on leader with strong communication skills and a passion for craftsmanship, we’d love to have you on our team.

The Flooring Manager is responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a team of flooring coordinators, administrators, technicians, and contractors, ensuring proper training and equipment.
  • Assessing flooring conditions and determining appropriate restoration or replacement solutions.
  • Preparing accurate estimates using On Side’s tools and systems.
  • Planning and overseeing flooring projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Selecting suitable materials and finishes tailored to each project’s needs.
  • Coordinating surface preparation activities such as cleaning, sanding, and leveling.
  • Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control.
  • Monitoring quality and compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resolving unexpected issues such as subfloor damage or structural challenges.
  • Keeping detailed documentation of project work, materials, and warranties.
  • Promoting sustainable practices and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Building and maintaining a reliable vendor network for diverse flooring installations.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of flooring types, materials, and installation techniques.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the flooring industry.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficient with technology and eager to adopt new tools.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, internal controls, and asset management.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • WHMIS and Occupational First Aid Level 1 certifications preferred.

Of Note:

This role reports to our secondary Edmonton location at #99 St NW, Edmonton AB T6E 4Y1, with future plans of relocating to the main branch.
