Job summary

Kent Building Supplies is seeking a Yard Associate to uphold safety, service, and merchandising standards in-store. The role involves physical work, learning product lines, and assisting with deliveries and paperwork.

The position requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, with flexibility to work days/evenings/weekends. Bilingual French/English is a plus and training on the D365 system will be provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.
• Experience in sales or customer service is required.
• Attention to detail is important for inventory and merchandising.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Availability to work days, evenings and weekends (rotating shifts).
• Willingness to learn and operate the D365 system used for orders.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.
• Bilingual in French and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, attentive customer service from greeting to checkout and delivery support.
• Maintain in-store standards: assist inventory counts, restock shelves, ensure clean, accessible merchandise.
• Learn about new products and participate in department training.
• Work safely following safety procedures and keep a hazard-free environment.
• Assist with preparing basic paperwork (invoices, delivery docs).
• Use D365 to manage inventory and orders.

Starting hourly wage is $ 16.15 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, attentive customer service - greet customers, answer questions, help them find what they need, and support them through the checkout and delivery-arrangement process.
• Maintain strong in-store standards - support inventory counts, restock shelves, and ensure merchandise is clean, organized, and easy for customers to access.
• Learn about new products and participate in department training to better support customers on the floor.
• Work safely by following all workplace safety procedures and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
• Assist with preparing basic paperwork, including invoices and delivery documentation.
• Use the store's computer system to keep inventory accurate when receiving new products or removing items due to damage or loss.
