Job description

If you are looking for a team that brings out the best in each other, a team that has fun and is proud of their work - we want to hear from you. The Four Points by Sheraton - Kelowna Airport is currently looking for a Floor Manager- Food & Beverage.

We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO.

What will you be doing?

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Managers, the Floor Manager- Food & Beverage is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant including staff training, light administration, and active floor supervision during service.

  1. Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and management alike.
  2. Show leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine.
  3. Demonstrate high personal integrity and business ethics while promoting the venue.
  4. Communicate the vision to all team members and lead by example. Reinforce the Gulfstream and Four Points by Sheraton values daily, and inspire the team with an exciting vision for the future.
  5. Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  6. Assist with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventory.
  7. Conduct briefings with service staff prior to each service.
  8. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  9. Strive for maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity.
  10. Participate or be aware of the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB procedures are being followed.
  11. Ensure the facility is well maintained, repaired, and spotless at all times.
  12. Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures.
  13. Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
  14. Additional duties as assigned or required.

What are we looking for?

To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:

  1. Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment.
  2. Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.
  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work.
  5. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  6. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  7. Serving it right credential an asset.
