Job summary

Hari Construction Ltd. is seeking a Floor Covering Installer to join our Calgary team. This on-site role requires installing carpets, vinyl and hardwood, reading blueprints, and preparing floors for installation.

Salary is $37.50 hourly with 35–40 hours per week. Employment is permanent, full-time, and starts as soon as possible. Education required is a secondary school graduation certificate; 1–2 years of related experience is typical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

• Install flooring materials such as vinyl, ceramic, hardwood and resilient coverings.
• Prepare floors for installations and handle removing existing coverings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered;
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements;
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding;
• Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors;
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings;
• Prepare and install hardwood floors;
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings;
• Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations;
• Prepare floors for installations;
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants;
• Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces;
• Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting;
• Perform direct glue-down carpet installations;
• Perform double-bond carpet installations;
• Install outdoor carpets;
• Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired);
• Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms; and
• Install vinyl decking materials.

• Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles; Ceramic tiles; Marble tiles; Hardwood strip flooring; Linoleum; Carpets/rugs
