Job summary

PBX7 Rennovation Limited hires on-site flooring installers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will measure, cut and install carpeting and resilient floor coverings, read blueprints, prepare floors, and ensure precise installations for residential and commercial projects.

The position requires a secondary school diploma and 1–2 years of experience, with a capacity to handle physically demanding tasks and work as part of a team. Vacation pay and WCB benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of flooring installation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and measurements.
• Physically capable: lifting, bending, kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut and install carpeting and floor coverings.
• Prepare floors for installations and remove old coverings.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Ensure precise and safe installations.

Salary – $22.00 hourly / 35 hours per week
Terms of employment – Permanent employment & Full time
Employment Conditions – Morning, Day, Weekend
Start Date – Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
• Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
• Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings
• Prepare and install hardwood floors
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
• Conduct moisture, pH, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations
• Estimate costs and materials
• Prepare floors for installations
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
• Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces
