Job description

The Staff Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts responsible for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as outlined in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. Demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The nurse must effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The role reports directly to a nurse manager or supervisor and ensures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practices. Floating duties include med/surg units and the ED observation area.

Requirements
  1. BSN required
  2. Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
  3. BLS certification required
  4. Medical/surgical/telemetry experience preferred
  5. Adheres to all I.C.A.R.E standards
  6. Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  7. Observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  8. Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills
  9. Effective skills in applying hospital standards, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management
