The Staff Nurse is a registered professional nurse in Massachusetts responsible for planning and delivering patient care according to Nursing Standards of Care as outlined in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The role requires demonstrating initiative, clinical knowledge, and skills in managing patients with complex needs. The nurse must effectively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, reporting directly to a nurse manager or supervisor. This position promotes the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in a best-practice environment. As a Critical Care RN, the nurse is also responsible for responding to emergencies across departments, leading responses to Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and outpatient Code Blue situations.
