Job summary

Advanced Medical Solutions is seeking qualified Advanced Care Paramedics or Critical Care Paramedics to join ACCESS Air Ambulance in Yellowknife and Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Work rotation is 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off, with opportunities to perform life-saving transports in fixed-wing aircraft across remote communities.

Qualifications

  • Registered Advanced Care Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic in Canada.
  • 3+ years of emergency, flight, or related experience.
  • Air ambulance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced patient care in high-stakes environments (trauma, cardiac, respiratory, obstetric).
  • Perform aeromedical evacuations and stabilize patients for transport.
  • Conduct patient assessments and initiate critical interventions per protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment for operational readiness.
  • Communicate with hospitals, dispatch, and aircrew to coordinate care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and simulations to enhance response skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an Air Ambulance team member, you’ll be an essential part of a highly skilled aeromedical crew, responding to critical medical emergencies and performing patient transports in fixed-wing aircraft. Working closely with nurses, physicians, and pilots, you’ll deliver advanced pre-hospital and interfacility critical care.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver advanced patient care in high-stakes environments, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and obstetric emergencies.
  • Perform aeromedical evacuations (medevacs) and stabilize patients for transport.
  • Conduct patient assessments and initiate critical interventions per medical protocols.
  • Prepare & maintain medical equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Communicate effectively with hospitals, dispatch, and aircrew to coordinate care.
  • Participate in ongoing training & simulations to enhance emergency response skills.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Registered Advanced Care Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic (Registered in Canada)
  • 3+ years of emergency, flight, or experience
  • Air Ambulance experience (preferred but not required)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and adaptability skills
  • Valid CPR, ACLS, ITLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE certifications (Instructor status is a bonus!)
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, remote, and unpredictable environments
  • Willingness to travel on small aircraft in varied weather conditions
