Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Project Manager to lead the engineering delivery of major transmission and substation infrastructure projects, coordinating clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safely and efficiently.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, a P.Eng. designation or eligibility, and 7+ years of experience, with strong communication and leadership to drive quality and risk management across complex interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility.
• 7+ years of progressive engineering and infrastructure project delivery experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on utility, transmission, energy, or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line, substation, and power system engineering projects.
• Experience overseeing engineering consultants, EPC contractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage technical risk and engineering quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through planning, design, review, and execution of transmission projects.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with project controls to develop cash flow and forecast dashboards.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between stakeholders, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and teams.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and milestones to support delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks while fostering proactive problem solving.
• Support procurement through technical reviews and bid evaluations.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
