Job summary

Michels Canada, a national contractor in energy, infrastructure and power construction, seeks a Manager of Equipment and Yard Operations in Nisku, AB. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of leadership experience in equipment management, fleet, or yard operations.
• Strong knowledge of equipment lifecycle management, maintenance planning, procurement, and asset utilization.
• Experience managing budgets, capital planning, and cost control in a complex operational environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment and yard operations, including allocation, warehousing, inventory control, yard management, and transport coordination.
• Manage and develop staff through recruitment, training, performance management, workforce planning, and employee relations.
• Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance planning, utilization, replacement, and disposal.
• Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs and coordination of repairs, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis.
• Lead procurement and vendor management, including sourcing, contracting, and performance oversight to optimize cost and service.
