We value and encourage diversity, and we have the courage to do the right thing, even when it’s hard.

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for operational excellence and fleet management? We’re looking for an on-site Fleet & Service Manager to oversee our Workforce Housing inventory—including dormitories, kitchens, recreation units, sleepers, tanks, and ancillary products— at the Fort Saskatchewan yard, ensuring all assets are maintained to high standards and ready for deployment. This role is critical in upholding equipment availability, quality, managing service, repairs and maintenance, service calls post-deployment, and leading operations at the Fort Saskatchewan yard. The Fleet & Service Manager provides leadership and coaching to yard personnel, drives consistent processes, and ensures optimal functionality and readiness of fleet assets. This position reports to the Director, Workforce Housing and Major Projects.

You’ll be the go-to expert for fleet readiness, service coordination, and quality assurance, working closely with internal teams and external service providers. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in delivering top-tier service, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance management to yard personnel.
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs and ensure fleet readiness.
  • Coordinate service calls and oversee repairs both on-site and in the field.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Project Execution teams to ensure fleet readiness, aligned expectations, and timely deployment of serviced units.
  • Conduct inspections, manage client walk-throughs, and handle chargebacks.
  • Lead all yard operations in alignment with ATCO’s safety policies and OH&S regulations.
  • Provide real-time fleet status updates, including accurate documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, manuals, photos, and maintenance logs).
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Project teams.
  • Maintain real-time fleet status reporting and documentation.
  • Drive key asset management initiatives to optimize fleet performance.
  • Build and maintain a network of service providers (e.g. sub-contractors) to support, repair, and remediate issues with fleet assets in the field or at the Fort Saskatchewan yard.
  • Coordinate and manage service calls.
  • Travel to client sites as needed to perform inspections of equipment.
  • Accountable for working within the budget allocated for servicing equipment.
  • Implement asset management strategies to optimize fleet performance.
  • Ensure all yard operations meet ATCO’s safety and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with OH&S regulations.

Job Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., logistics, operations, construction).
  • Proven ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Strong knowledge of fleet management practices with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Good understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, envelope)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills are a plus
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
  • An effective communicator with demonstrated leadership through action and accountability
  • Good computer skills, experience with MS Project or Primavera P6 is an asset
  • A collaborative team player with a solution-oriented approach
