Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Work under limited supervision and performs tasks according to written instructions and established procedures.
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts.
  • Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / Worksafe Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) yearsof relevant work experience, certified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
  • Knowledge/ experience using RTA an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record, Class 3 Driver's Licence or higher is an asset.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to successfully pass a background check consisting of an MTO medical/drug test, criminal history search, license verification and employment confirmation.
