Job description

Broad Function
The Fleet Manager is actively involved in all Fleet related activities for the organization. This position is responsible for full life-cycle management of the vehicle fleet to include directing and organizing the tasks related to procurement, fuel, maintenance and repair, and services of the company vehicles. Additionally, the Fleet Manager helps to define and ensures compliance with company Vehicle policies.

Essential Functions

  1. Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business.
  2. Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities for company vehicles, defines specifications and make purchase decisions based on optimal quality and price.
  3. Responsible for proper inspection, registration, and titling of all company vehicles.
  4. Coordinate and negotiate fleet maintenance and management contracts.
  5. Ensure compliance with both company and employee lease vehicle policies, reports on discrepancies and variations to policy.
  6. Analyze repair costs to control expenditures and ensures sound decision making on repair versus disposal.
  7. Lead the procurement and disposal of all company vehicles.
  8. Regular assessment, mentoring, and development of personnel. Responsible for personnel development including skill level assessments, performance management and competency assessment for all functions within the associated organization.
  9. Develop and maintain KPI and metric reporting for distribution to executive and regional leadership.
  10. Active participant in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Asset Management organization.
  11. Active participant in budget development and implementation.
  12. Formulate new policies, programs, and procedures related to the fleet department.
  13. Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize vehicle utilization.
  14. Develop and implement inventory strategies to ensure asset accountability.
  15. Evaluate purchase versus 3rd party rental decisions based on capital requirements.
  16. Maximize fuel economy and manage the fuel card usage.
  17. Assist with or oversee hands-on repairs and diagnostics of fleet vehicles as needed.
  18. Coordinate or perform the transportation and shuttling of vehicles to and from work sites or repair vendors as operationally required.
  19. Responsible for administrative duties including the creation and approval of purchase orders, maintenance of telematics and third-party systems.
  20. SharePoint document management and monthly chargeback tracking and rebilling.
