About the Role

Midland Brick is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Fleet Manager with a passion to lead and oversee all aspects of safety, performance and continuous improvement.

With a focus on optimisation and collaboration, you will have strong leadership experience in operational, compliance and financial management to ensure risk is managed and our experienced team continue to develop and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective leadership and development of a team of company drivers/vehicles, sub-contractors, and fleet controllers.
  • Manage Main Roads Compliance, Governance & successful Audit outcomes.
  • Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to WA Fatigue Guidelines and workplace safety policies.
  • Providing leadership, initiatives and risk management strategies on all matters Safety related.
  • Ensuring Fleet of Assets are optimised to meet customer commitments.
  • Ensuring the Fleet Department meet budget expectations.
  • Assist agreement negotiations with sub-contractors.
  • Development of a suite of KPI’s with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Preparing company Safety statistics monthly and leading Monthly Toolbox / Safety Meetings.
  • Maintain current Fleet and supportive Systems.
  • Overseeing and supporting maintenance programs for all assets.
  • Conducting pricing model reviews and preparing quotes for regional deliveries.
  • Leading training programs, coaching, and performance management for drivers.
  • Acting as the key liaison between drivers, supervisors, customers, and management.
Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience in transport, compliance and accreditation management at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership, procedural and financial management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience developing a strong safety culture, including implementing strategies to ensure compliance and safety initiatives to drive business excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation processes, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a can-do, proactive approach to risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
