Job summary

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is looking for a Fleet & Maintenance Supervisor in Chalk River, Ontario. Job description

Do you enjoy leading teams and driving safe, efficient operations? Are you experienced in maintenance or fleet environments and ready to take the next step? Our Fleet & Maintenance Supervisor role offers the opportunity to lead a diverse team while ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule in a fast‑paced operational environment. This role plays a key part in supporting daily operations, coaching team members, and maintaining high standards of safety, performance, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and overseeing daily fleet and maintenance operations to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Supervising, coaching, and supporting a diverse team including operators, drivers, trades, and lead hands.
  • Coordinating work activities, resources, and schedules to meet operational and service requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to support operational priorities and resolve issues.
  • Supporting workforce planning, training, and development of team members.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Relevant trade certification, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience
    • Experience supervising or leading teams in a maintenance, fleet, or operational environment.
    • Proven experience working in safety‑focused, fast‑paced environments.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong leadership and team development skills.
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems effectively.
    • Solid understanding of maintenance and operational processes.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3–5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions
  • Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
