Job description

Clean Harbors is looking to hire a Fleet Maintenance manager to join their team in Corunna, Ontario. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for the management of an assigned maintenance organizational entity including planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing day-to-day operations, while managing the profit/loss, human resources, recruiting, maintenance, accounting, administration, and public relation functions.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.

Responsible for the management of all aspects of an assigned area in accordance with the area's business plan and budget, directions from the directors, officers of the company, and sound management practices.

Comply with all human resources (personnel, safety, health and environmental) policies, procedures, laws and regulations, including SOPs, AP's, personnel manual, OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

Meet region goals, expectations and KPIs for area of responsibility. Provide performance management using the KPIs and goals for direct reports.

Provide guidance and approval of major repairs on company assets in accordance with approval guidelines and escalation processes.

Develop working relationships with internal customers to maintain and increase services, as well as managing the asset life cycle.

Develop relationships with health & safety, transportation compliance, human resources, fleet operations, and sales personnel to promote compliance to business practices.

Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, and career paths of employees within area of responsibility.

Qualifications

2-4 years of operations background in logistics, maintenance, transportation or related field.

Pref. with individuals that have Heavy Duty Fleet experience.

Previous leadership and personnel development experience.

Ability to create actionable items out of data and information.

  • Strategic planning, coupled with tactical execution.
  • Ability to work across business lines.

Strong negotiation skills.

Proven success record in safety, employee retention and cost savings.

Working (user) knowledge of Microsoft office suite(Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Drives to achieve results and goals in the short and long term/ takes action in a fast-paced environment to complete tasks on time at high quality.
