Job summary

The Erb Group is seeking a 310T Truck Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and service trucks, trailers, and related equipment. You will follow safety policies, document work, and assist senior mechanics while maintaining a clean, organized shop environment.

You must hold a 310T Truck and Coach License and a valid driver’s license, with a strong aptitude for truck maintenance, safety, and teamwork. The role offers an hourly wage with a 40-hour work week and rotating day/afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

• Document all work clearly and keep inspection sheets up to date.
• Log parts usage daily and report discrepancies for inventory control.
• Carry out road tests to verify safety and functionality of repaired vehicles.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

SUMMARY

The 310T Truck Mechanic is responsible for truck and equipment repairs or service as required by the Leadhand, Foreman, or Shop Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Document all work completed, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date.
• Fill out inspection sheets as required, adhering to company standards and safety guidelines.
• Track and log parts usage daily, ensuring proper inventory control and reporting any discrepancies.
• When instructed, perform road tests to verify the functionality and safety of repaired vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
• Assist senior mechanics in troubleshooting mechanical issues, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• All other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• 310T Truck and Coach License. Proof of license will be required.
• Valid driver license.
• Candidates must be willing to work safely and make safety a priority above all else adhere to safety policies and regulations and engage in best practice of safety initiatives.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other software such as TMT.
• Aptitude for truck maintenance and repair.
• Positive attitude with proven people skills.
• Honest, diplomatic and trustworthy.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Hourly based on 40 hours of work.
• Bi-weekly rotating shift (days/afternoons).
