Job description

Your Opportunity

Emergency Health Services – Alberta (EHS-AB) is one of Canada’s largest integrated emergency medical systems, providing care to over 750,000 Albertans annually through a province-wide model encompassing dispatch, ground ambulance, aeromedical response, and specialized clinical programs. As the Fleet Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting Alberta’s Emergency Medical Services by coordinating the Vehicle Equipment Supplies Service Technician (VESST) Team, resources, and processes that help ensure ambulances, medical equipment, and critical supplies are available, safe, and ready for service across the province. Working within a provincial team, you will contribute to the success of this pilot project as we expand our VESST program to support operational readiness through program coordination, logistics planning, inventory oversight, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives across the province. This position is ideal for an organized and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex operational challenges. You will work closely with frontline staff, operational leaders, vendors, and support services to coordinate activities, monitor program performance, and support the delivery of fleet, equipment, and supply-related services. Your ability to manage competing priorities, analyze operational needs, and build effective relationships will be essential to success in this role. As a provincial coordinator, you will contribute to process improvement, resource planning, service delivery initiatives, reporting, and emergency preparedness activities. This is an exciting opportunity to combine leadership, logistics, and healthcare operations knowledge while making a meaningful contribution to patient care, public safety, and EMS operational excellence throughout Alberta.

Description

As a Fleet Coordinator, you will coordinate a team of Vehicle and Equipment Supply Service Technicians (VESSTs) to ensure that ambulances, medical equipment, supplies, and emergency response stations meet provincial standards and applicable regulatory requirements. You will serve as a technical expert in fleet, facilities, medical equipment, and supply management and will maintain a strong understanding of workflow processes across all five provincial operational divisions. Your typical duties include coordinating with operations teams and vendors to ensure vehicles, equipment, supplies and facilities are maintained, repaired, and available in accordance with operational requirements.
