Purpose of the position

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  1. Choreographing, organizing, and facilitating fitness classes and workshops tailored to various fitness levels and community needs.
  2. Providing administrative support to the Recreation & Community Services Division to help achieve organizational goals.
  3. Supporting safety and risk management to ensure County programs comply with provincial standards and legislation.
  4. Performing other duties as required.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA) Group Exercise Leadership Certification, Can-Fit Pro, or a related certification.
  • Previous experience instructing in a fitness environment.
  • A background in nutrition is an asset.
  • High-Five Principles of Healthy Child Development is an asset.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of municipal government and public recreation facility administration.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Successful candidates must provide a Driver’s Abstract, Child Intervention Check, Medical Assessment, and Criminal Record Check to meet the County’s standards.

  • Salary range: $34.44 - $44.13 hourly
  • Casual position with working days, evenings, and weekends as required.
