Job summary

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is a world-class yacht club in Toronto seeking a Fitness Appraiser to monitor fitness usage for members and guests and administer initial assessments and program designs. You will deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor within RCYC standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring the fitness area, registering new members and guests, conducting assessments, and assisting with class setup and attendance records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fitness equipment and its proper use is essential.
• Minimum 1-year experience.
• Must hold a valid First-Aid and CPR-C Certificate.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Monitor Fitness Section Members and assist with equipment usage.
• Register new fitness Members and guests, ensuring all paperwork is signed and shoe tag is provided.
• Administer initial assessment and program design sessions for Members as needed.
• Keep Fitness Centre clean and tidy.
• Set up and tear down each fitness class during shift and collect attendance sheets for statistics.
• Ensure small equipment room is clean, organized and locked after each class.
• Return phone calls once every hour within shift.

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is a world class yacht club with a mandate to promote excellence in competitive sailing and sports. The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our summer home at the Island Clubhouse and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto at St George and Bloor. With over 4000 Members we have extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.

The Fitness Appraiser is primarily responsible for monitoring fitness usage of both members and Non-Members, registering and administering the initial assessment and program designs for Members. The Fitness Appraiser is responsible for ensuring Member and Guest expectations are exceeded within the Club standards. The position must demonstrate effective communication skills, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of fitness equipment and its’ proper use is essential
• Must hold a valid First-Aid and CPR-C Certificate
• Exceptional customer service skills

JOB DUTIES:
