Position Summary

Reporting to the Fitness Supervisor and Fitness Coordinator, the Fitness Coach will oversee on-site supervision of members in the Fitness Centre, including facility tours, orientations, gym supervision, exercise demonstrations, member motivation, customer service, and liaison duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide friendly, courteous tours to potential clients.
  2. Respond to inquiries from and liaise with members, program participants, and the public.
  3. Enforce Fitness Centre rules and procedures professionally.
  4. Monitor patrons, observe exercise techniques, and advise on safe exercise principles.
  5. Demonstrate safe use of equipment and maintain knowledge of all equipment benefits.
  6. Inspect and clean fitness equipment regularly for safety and functionality.
  7. Keep the floor area tidy and free of equipment hazards.
  8. Respond to First Aid emergencies according to certification standards.
  9. Maintain excellent public relations with staff and the public.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Certifications such as Kinesiology Degree, Fitness Diploma, or Personal Training Specialist Certification with two or more years’ experience.
  • Emergency First Aid with CPR-C certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fitness-related disciplines, including group exercise instruction, personal training, or fitness consulting.
