Job summary

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Leisure Centre is seeking energetic and organized individuals for on-site fitness supervision. You will coach members, design programs, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment at the Fitness Centre.

Qualifications include fitness knowledge and coaching, with assets such as First Aid/CPR, related education, strong communication, and willingness to work days, evenings, and weekends. Wage is CAD 21.18–25.75 per hour. Closing date: 2026-08-31.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of physical fitness and program delivery.
• First Aid/CPR Level C certifications are assets.
• Education in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, or Physical Education is an asset.
• Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to obtain a criminal record check upon hire.

Job description

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Leisure Centre includes two NHL sized ice rinks, gymnasium, community program rooms, fitness centre and a state of the art aquatics centre with an eight lane competitive/lap pool, leisure pool with aquatic features and a relaxation/therapy pool. The Leisure Services Department is looking for energetic, highly motivated and organized individuals to join its team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• On-site supervision at the Fitness Centre including demonstrating equipment use and exercise routines, coaching members regarding their fitness programs and monitoring equipment and running track use Responsible for program design and delivery
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment and program areas
• Reporting equipment repairs or work orders
• Ensuring that guests have a positive experience in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment.
• Provide program coverage in all areas of recreation when required and respond to inquiries/concerns from the general public and participants

Key Competencies and Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of physical fitness, coaching and instructing acquired through education or experience; and
• Academic training in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field is considered an asset
• Candidates will have proven interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, guests, staff and volunteers.
• Ability to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees and the general public
• Up to date Standard First Aid, and CPR Level C certifications and a Personal Training Certification is considered an asset.
• Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends
• Ability to obtain a criminal record vulnerable sector check upon hire

This position pays an hourly wage of $21.18 to 25.75.
