Job description

Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Fit Technician to join their product development team in Montreal. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring premium quality, consistency, and exceptional fits across a range of elevated men’s apparel.

As a Fit Technician, you will work closely with the design, product development, and production teams to evaluate samples, perfect garment fit, and uphold our commitment to craftsmanship and comfort.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead fit sessions on development, pre-production, and production samples for men's knitwear, jersey, and casual woven apparel.
  2. Evaluate garments for construction accuracy, measurement specifications, balance, proportion, and overall fit.
  3. Create and communicate detailed fit comments, construction notes, and pattern adjustments to overseas factories and vendors.
  4. Collaborate with design and product teams to maintain fit consistency across all styles and seasons.
  5. Ensure all samples meet established brand standards and grading rules.
  6. Track and manage sample approvals, fit feedback, and revisions throughout the development cycle.
  7. Maintain and update fit blocks, specs, and measurement libraries as needed.

Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of experience as a Fit Technician, Technical Designer, or in a similar garment technical role, ideally within menswear.
  2. Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and grading.
  3. Experience fitting knitwear, jersey, or casual apparel is a strong asset.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator for spec sheets and technical documentation.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Fluent in English (French an asset).
