Job summary

Kleinschmidt Group in Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking a Project Engineer to design and construct fish passage projects from its Halifax office. This full-time role requires a PE (or commitment to licensure) and a background in fisheries engineering with a minimum of six years' experience.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (or commitment to becoming one) with BEng and a minimum of 6 years' experience in fisheries engineering or a closely related field.
  • Experience with fisheries engineering guidelines and structural/hydraulic analysis within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD or similar modeling tools; ability to collaborate with regulators and biologists.

Responsibilities

  • Serve a foundational role on multi-disciplinary teams delivering fish passage projects including technical fishways and nature-like structures.
  • Perform structural design and hydraulic analysis in collaboration with civil, structural, hydraulics, and other engineers.
  • Develop design drawings and support with regulatory approvals during project delivery.
