Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures

Manitoba is a world-class destination for outdoor adventure. It is home to incredible fisheries and a rich diversity of wildlife and ecosystems. Over 90 fish species, including Goldeye, Walleye, Northern Pike, and Lake Sturgeon, inhabit its waters. Manitoba boasts the finest freshwater fishery in the Western Hemisphere. The Manitoba Fisheries Branch is dedicated to protecting and managing fish resources for all Manitobans, developing policies and legislation to conserve fisheries. The branch offers various fisheries programs delivered by biologists, planners, technicians, support staff, and partners to ensure the sustainability of Manitoba’s fisheries resources for future generations.

The Manitoba government provides a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health care, a health spending account, dental and vision care, long-term disability insurance, group life insurance, maternity/paternity leave, family-related leave, and a defined pension plan (with some portability options between the Civil Service Superannuation Board and other employers).
