We are currently searching for an
IntermediateFisheries Biologist/Aquatic Scientistto join our team in
Vernon. This role requires a scientific background in fisheries and aquatic ecology and the ability to support a growing environmental team, to be based in our Vernonoffice, and support our wider, BC and Northern Division. The position involves program design and implementation, project management, and client and business development. You will tackle a wide variety of environmental work primarily on local and regional infrastructure engineering projects through all project phases, including occasional travel and remote work.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Completing assessments and coordinating field surveys.
- Supporting complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports and workplans for technical programs and supporting the preparation of winning proposals.
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal regulatory processes and requirements.
- Contributing to business development, including assisting in proposal preparation, client contacts, and meetings.
- Training and mentoring junior staff.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Biology, Fisheries, or Aquatic Science.
- Preference given to individuals with a professional designation (R.P.Bio., P.Biol., R.B.Tech.).
- Adaptability to a wide variety of work types and sizes.
- Experience maintaining client relationships, communicating with agencies and community members.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with demonstrated experience working collaboratively in teams and delivering tasks.
- Practical experience in fish habitat and riparian assessments, salvage, auditing, offsetting and habitat design support, stream channel processes, and streamflow and fish habitat interactions.
- Strong time management and organizational ability.
- Ability to follow directions, take initiative and work in a team.
- Valid driver’s licence.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
