Job summary

North Nova Seafoods is hiring for a seasonal position in Nova Scotia. Wage is $19.00 hourly with full-time hours during the season and 30 hours per week. No experience or degree is required, and on‑the‑job training will be provided.

You will unload, sort, weigh and process fish and shellfish, using forklifts and manual handling where needed. Benefits include a dental plan, and newcomers or youth can be supported with training.

Qualifications

• No degree required; training provided.
• On-the-job training available for youth.
• Seasonal position with English work language and 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Unload fish and shellfish from vessels and move by hand to the work area.
• Operate forklift to transport catch from vessels.
• Transport fish to work area for processing.
• Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing.
• Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack in ice.
• Clean machines and immediate work areas.
• Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
• Sort fish by species, weight and destination.
