Job description

First Nations Community Claims Administrators

Position: Indigenous - Remote - Full Time

The Claims Administrators will work closely with Indigenous communities across Canada, supporting First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle class action initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to claimants with diplomacy throughout the claim process.
  2. Develop and foster relationships with claimants.
  3. Assist claimants in completing claim forms and connecting them with support resources.
  4. Help claimants check claim status and navigate the appeals process.
  5. Educate individuals on the claims process and settlement benchmarks.
  6. Participate in training sessions to ensure effective claims support.
  7. Adaptability: Ability to pivot and adapt to changes as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years relevant experience.
  • Social Work Diploma.
  • Ability to establish trust and communicate effectively with individuals experiencing (intergenerational) trauma.
  • Proficient in technology and online platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada.
  • Provide virtual support via phone, internet, or in person.
