A non-profit Tribal Council is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead advisory and technical services for its six Treaty No. Six member First Nations in Northeastern Alberta. The CEO will ensure the organization's mission and vision are met while maintaining accountability to the Board of Chiefs and funders. Additionally, the CEO will oversee the business operations of the affordable housing initiative, office properties, and related development projects.
Responsibilities
Secure funding through proposals to all levels of government and external stakeholders.
Oversee management and daily operations in alignment with Board policies and directives.
Provide governance support and technical services to the Board.
Develop position papers on issues impacting Treaty and inherent rights.

Qualifications
Degree in Management, Business, Finance, Law, or equivalent experience with at least five (5) years of senior management experience.
Ability to speak an Indigenous language - Mandatory.
Strong understanding of First Nation culture, values, and governance.
Familiarity with federal/provincial programs, Treaties, the Indian Act, and current First Nation issues.
Experience in business operations, including tenant leases and affordable housing.
Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex concepts effectively.
Skilled in diplomacy and relationship management.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Clear Criminal Records Check and Driver's Abstract required.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight as needed.
