Job Title: FIRST COOK

We are recruiting for two full-time First Cook positions, offering 30-40 hours per week, with a permanent contract and an hourly rate of $20.60. Overtime may be required and paid at time and a half.

Job duties:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and foods.
  • Plan and oversee food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervise activities of 2nd and 3rd cooks.
  • Assist in creating new recipes with the Chef de Partie.
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards and follow safety rules.
  • Monitor portion sizes and waste to maintain profitability.
  • Ensure high-quality food production, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Follow standard procedures for food handling, storage, and sanitation.
  • Handle food at proper temperatures following preservation standards.
  • Flexible shift hours are required.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or culinary college program is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of commercial cooking experience.
