Wage & Paygrade: $24.75/hour (PG79) Plus 5% in lieu of Benefits and Vacation.

The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 115-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and delivering memorable experiences.

Please note this is a seasonal role for the 2025 Fair season—all applicants must have full availability during the Fair Period from (August 16 - September 1, 2025). Depending on individual performance during the 2025 Fair period, there will be opportunity to be hired to work part-time year-round during events and concerts held at the PNE.

What will you do this year?

In your role as a First Aid Attendant, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Provide first aid assistance to staff and visiting guests as required
  • Provide public safety to guests and night security to flat shows
  • Maintain first aid requirements at all PNE events
  • Patrol designated Park area and buildings
  • Participating as an active member of the PNE First Aid Team
  • Greeting and assist guests and staff in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and order within the first aid workspace
  • Stay calm under stressful situations
  • Ensure PNE Uniform and Appearance policy is adhered to at all times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Operate vehicles and tools/equipment in compliance with all health and safety requirements as determined by WorkSafeBC, and all other applicable legislation and company policies.

What else?

  • Must have successful completion of grade 12.
  • Must have a valid Occupational First Aid Level III Certification; OR must be a licensed EMR/PCP/ACP- Candidates in Possession of current Emergency Medical Assistants (EMA) License, must apply for an OFA certificate at the appropriate level from an authorized training Agency.
  • Must be capable of reading, writing and speaking in English for the purposes of written or oral instructions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a variety of situations while maintaining a calm and flexible demeanour.
  • Must be highly motivated, dependable, and accountable.
  • Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts during The Fair period (August 16 – September 1) including evenings and weekends.
  • Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
