The City of Vaughan invites applications for a permanent full-time Firefighter within the Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service. You will join a team under Company Officers, performing firefighting, rescue, medical aid, public education, and equipment maintenance in a 24-hour shift environment.

Upon successful completion of training, you will work under the supervision of Company Officers in a team environment to perform all manner of operations tasks, including, but not limited to firefighting*, rescue work, administering first aid, conducting public education programs and inspecting buildings for fire hazards. You will operate as well as maintain firefighting apparatus and equipment, including fire stations.
*NOTE. Firefighting is a hazardous occupation. You may be seriously injured performing this work. Firefighters are at higher risk than the general public for certain types of cancer and occupational stress injuries. It is important that you understand these risks before applying.
**All candidates will be required to pay a $151.00, plus tax application fee to participate in this recruitment process. Application fees are non-refundable for any submitted application.
