Qualifications

  • ASTTBC RFPT or CFAA certification is an asset.
  • Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Life Safety systems effectively.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for Fire Alarm Technicians to join our Victoria team full-time. Reporting to the Board and General Manager, you will lead inspections, maintenance, repairs, and service calls on Fire and Life Safety equipment, while mentoring Junior Fire Protection Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct inspections (Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual) as per BC Fire Code, CAN/ULC, NFPA, and CSA standards.
  2. Perform repairs and troubleshooting on Fire and Life Safety Equipment.
  3. Complete all inspection and deficiency reports accurately and promptly.
  4. Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
  5. Maintain communication with internal and external contacts regarding inspections and project statuses.
  6. Mentor and coach Junior Technicians.
  7. Commit to ongoing education to deliver exceptional service.
  8. Stay updated with industry standards and best practices.
  9. Maintain certifications with ASTTBC and/or CFAA, if applicable.
  10. Provide excellent customer interactions, adhering to company values and safety protocols.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • ASTTBC RFPT or CFAA certification (asset).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and Driver's Abstract.
  • Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Life Safety systems effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and a positive attitude.
  • Proven industry success and passion.
