Job description

An established fire consultancy is seeking a skilled Fire Safety Consultant to join their team in Surrey.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work across a range of sectors, including healthcare, education, government, and historic properties, delivering expert fire safety solutions tailored to diverse client needs.

The Fire Safety Consultant’s Role

As a Fire Safety Consultant, you will play a key role in providing expert advice and solutions to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Your responsibilities will include delivering Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), fire engineering solutions, and compliance strategies for various building types, with an emphasis on historic and complex properties.

You will work closely with clients to provide tailored fire safety advice, ensuring alignment with current fire legislation and standards such as Approved Document B (ADB) and BS 9999.

Key responsibilities :

  • Conducting Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) across a range of property types.
  • Delivering fire engineering solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Advising on fire safety compliance and strategy, particularly in historic properties.
  • Applying knowledge of ADB, BS 9999, and fire law legislation.
  • Preparing detailed reports with practical recommendations.

The Successful Fire Safety Consultant Will Have

  • Minimum of level 4 Diploma or CFPA qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety advice and design.
  • Knowledge of fire legislation, including ADB and BS 9999.
  • Understanding of fire safety considerations in historic and complex properties.
  • Recognised fire safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Fire, IFE membership, or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
