Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Sprinkler Technician – Fire Protection to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler and related systems across client facilities. You will ensure compliance with NFPA, provincial fire codes, and building regulations while supporting life-safety objectives.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years on fire sprinkler systems, a Sprinkler Fitter apprenticeship, and strong NFPA knowledge. CFAA certification is an asset; position is full-time and on-site in Canada.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Sprinkler Fitter apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• 3–5 years of experience with fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, NFPA 20 and provincial codes.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inspections, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, valves, and related equipment in accordance with NFPA 25 and provincial requirements.
• Performs system flow tests, pressure tests, pump churn and run tests, and valve supervisory checks.
• Identifies impairments, deficiencies, leaks, and takes corrective action or escalates as needed.
• Prepares inspection reports, service tags, and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
• Diagnoses issues with sprinkler heads, piping, valves, backflow preventers, and fire pumps.
