Base pay range

CA$74,774.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • The primary focus of this role is to reduce the potential of fire on the premises and to ensure the proper operation of fire alarm and fire protection systems in response to a fire emergency. Fire Prevention is vital in ensuring that all building construction, renovations, maintenance, and retrofits on the campuses are in compliance with the Ontario Building and Ontario Fire Codes.
Qualifications
  • Education: College diploma or equivalent training on Fire Safety, Fire Alarm Systems and Fire Protection Equipment or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in the field of fire protection and prevention or equivalent amount of education and experience. Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Fire Alarm Association or Canadian Fire Sprinkler Association.
