Fire Investigator - Full Time (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences is currently seeking a Fire Investigator in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area who is dynamic, motivated, and passionate about their career to support our expansion in Atlantic Canada.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic fire investigations to determine the origin and cause of structure and vehicle fires. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required. Good presentation skills are an asset. Effective communication with clients and stakeholders is crucial.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess, analyze, and report on the origin and cause of fires.
  2. Interview witnesses, service personnel, and other officials.
  3. Conduct inspections of roofs, attics, crawlspaces, partially destroyed buildings, fire-damaged structures, and elevated structures.
  4. Recognize potential subrogation opportunities.
  5. Climb, work at heights, and operate in all weather conditions.
  6. Assess the safety of fire-damaged structures.
  7. Lead projects from start to finish.
  8. Provide clear, accurate, and timely reports.
Qualifications
  • Minimum certification: CFEI, CFI, or CVFI, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Background in fire investigation or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the insurance and legal industries is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong understanding of the Fire Code.
  • Class G driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Positive, self-driven, and motivated attitude.
  • Willingness to support marketing and sales through industry events and presentations.
  • Customer-facing experience: ability to discuss project budgets and maintain communication with clients.
