Our Ideal Candidate :
We are seeking a candidate certified to NFPA 1001 (Firefighter I and II) with a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and strong Microsoft Office skills. The successful applicant must commit to obtaining certifications in Fire Inspector I, BC Fire Code, Fire Investigation, and Wildfire Mitigation within two years of hire.
Preferred qualifications include a Fire Prevention Officer Certificate (or equivalent), knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and experience in areas such as public education, emergency response, wildfire management, inspections, investigations, and program administration.
Valued certifications include Fire Inspector I (NFPA 1031), Fire Investigator (NFPA 1033), FireSmart and wildfire mitigation credentials, Incident Safety Officer (NFPA 1521), drone operation (Transport Canada), and youth fire intervention. Familiarity with Fire Department Management (FDM) systems is also considered an asset.
