Job summary

CEP Forensic Inc. is seeking a Fire and Explosion Forensic Expert to join our multidisciplinary team in Canada.

You will lead investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions, visit sites, collect data, interview witnesses, and craft clear, professional reports for non-technical readers. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering preferred), experience in fire investigations or building electrical installs, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (asset).
• Experience in fire investigations and/or in building electrical installations & maintenance.
• Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, structured, and professional technical reports.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions.
• Visit sites, take pictures, videos, samples, readings, and other helpful information from the scene.
• Conduct interviews with witnesses and stakeholders using strong communication skills.
• Gather and analyze data to produce reports that are accessible to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with other investigators on multidisciplinary cases.
• Write convincing and accessible reports detailing investigative steps leading to conclusions.
• Follow ISO procedures within our certified operational framework.
• Promote the company through professional interactions with customers.
