Job DescriptionWHAT'S THE JOB?
Fire Camps are remote camps that require rapid mobilization of staff to get to site in a variety of different locations in Flin Flon, MB.
You must be comfortable working in a remote bush camp setting. Bush camps are often hours away from any town, with limited to no cell reception and Wi-Fi. Must be comfortable sleeping in a tent and living in the outdoors as accommodations can range from a lodge to a tent depending on the site.
TheChefis responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen in a remote camp; ordering food ingredients and planning menu, including other responsibilities such as assisting with the preparation, serving, and control of cooked and uncooked food, training of staff and ensuring that staff follows prescribed Horizon North Food Safety protocol.

Work schedule and remuneration:
Fire camp workers must have the ability to commit to a minimum 2-3 week rotation. Site locations are in remote bush settings and may require tent accommodations dependent on the location of the fire activity in the region. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on a daily basis and include a starting rate of $335.
