Job summary

Siemens Canada is seeking a Fire and Alarm Technician to join our team in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. You will conduct inspections and maintenance on fire-alarm systems at client sites and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Strong communication and problem-solving are essential where English is an asset but duties may require French. Knowledge of Building Code and ULC standards, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work outside normal hours are required.

Qualifications

  • Have one of the diplomas: DEP, AEC or DEC in electronics or fire-alarm or relevant field experience.
  • Knowledge of Building Code and ULC fire alarm standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication; ability to diagnose problems.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to work outside normal hours.
  • French and English language skills; CFAA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Fire and Alarm Technician, you will work at our clientele.

You will be in charge of conducting inspections and maintenance on various systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Testing systems in accordance with the various codes and standards in place while diagnosing technical problems
  • Ensuring unparalleled customer service
Qualifications:
  • Have one of the following diplomas: DEP, AEC or DEC in electronics or fire-alarm OR relevant experience in the field of fire-alarm
  • Knowledge of the Building Code and ULC fire alarm system standards
  • Good organizational skills; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to identify and solve technical problems
  • Costumer focus and team spirit
  • Good computer knowledge, particularly MS-Office
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours
  • Valid driver's licence is mandatory
  • Good knowledge of English, spoken and written
  • Excellent knowledge of French, spoken and written
  • CFAA certification, an asset

English would be considered an asset for this position but is not a requirement. The successful candidate must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position in French. Knowledge of English may be beneficial for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Occasional interaction with English-speaking customers, suppliers, or colleagues outside of Quebec.
  • Accessing reference materials, documentation or software that is available only in English;
  • Other business-related situations where English may be beneficial but is not required to perform the essential duties of the role.
