Responsibilities

As our Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, programming, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems. Your duties include:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and manuals;
  • Racking panels, wiring, installing devices and conduit;
  • Working with Emergency Lighting and Monitoring Systems;
  • Evaluating plans, customer requests, codes, and non-conformance issues to provide solutions;
  • Troubleshooting fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems;
  • Preparing stock materials and optimizing material use;
  • Supporting take-offs and preparing proposals/quotations;
  • Completing daily reports on work activities;
  • Following safe work practices and demonstrating safety leadership;
  • Mentoring team members and apprentices;
  • Participating in 24/7 emergency call-outs.
Qualifications

  • Training in fire alarm systems (e.g., Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, Notifier) is an asset;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Ability to travel and work at remote sites; overtime may be required.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience servicing fire alarm systems;
  • College or trade education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology, with relevant certifications or permits (e.g., CFAA, ASTTBC) preferred;
What We Offer

Everguard provides a competitive salary ($25.00-$34.00/hr), benefits, and a 40-hour workweek (Monday to Friday, 8:00-4:30). Overtime, on-call, and evening/weekend work may be required. Benefits include medical and dental coverage, vacation time, and more.
