D&L Engineering Sales Limited is a Halifax, Nova Scotia-based company that is a regional leader in the Fire & Life Safety Industry. We provide products and services to Fire Alarm and Fire Protection Markets. We are recruiting a Service Technician to join our dynamic team.

As a member of an experienced team, the Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for providing superior customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a professional, customer-oriented individual with strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who focuses on safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  1. Fire alarm system commissioning and verification
  2. Fire alarm system inspection and preventive maintenance
  3. Identify, troubleshoot and correct fire alarm system technical problems
  4. Complete site inspection and verification reports in a timely manner
  5. Participate in 24-hour on-call emergency response service
  6. Participate in the Canadian Fire Alarm Association technician program
  7. Perform responsibilities in accordance with CAN/ULC standards for fire alarm systems
  8. Follow and participate in safety and ISO quality standards
  9. Travel within HRM and Atlantic Canada as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Certified electronics technician or equivalent experience
  2. Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) registration would be an asset
  3. Proficient with computers and various software applications such as Windows, MS Word
  4. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills
  6. Strong communication and customer service skills
  7. Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety safe work practices
  8. Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
  9. Criminal background check required
  10. Ability to attain Security Clearance
