Job description

We are seeking a skilled finishing carpenter who excels in installing doors, hardware, lever sets, weather strips, door closures, panic doors, and door stops. The ideal candidate must be capable of reading and following step-by-step installation instructions, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have the ability to navigate iPads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install doors and hardware, including lever sets, weather strips, door closures, and panic doors.
• Wire panic doors and install door stops.
• Follow step-by-step installation instructions accurately.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently.
• Problem-solve and adapt to various tasks and challenges.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience in construction and carpentry installation.
• Ability to read blueprints and installation instructions.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a carpenter or in a specialty sub-trade.
• Ability to safely operate various power tools, including MIG welders, saws, presses, grinders, power files, isolating tools, and punching equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Possession of basic tools such as cordless drill and driver bits.
• Experience with welding.
• First aid certification is a plus.
• Commitment to wearing PPE at all times, including hard hat, steel-toed boots, high visibility attire, gloves, clear glasses, and a lanyard for the hard hat.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00 / hr.
