Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. is seeking an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator to support civil construction projects across Alberta. You will perform fine grading, site prep, cleanup, and material handling, ensuring accuracy and safety on busy worksites.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of skid steer experience, a valid Class 5 license, and a proactive approach to quality and teamwork. This full-time role offers competitive wages and a strong pipeline of work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of skid steer operating experience in civil construction.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
• CSTS, Ground Disturbance, and other safety certifications are assets.
• Ability to work around underground utilities and tight spaces safely.
• Understanding of grading tolerances and site operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate skid steer equipment for fine grading and finishing work
• Perform site preparation, leveling, backfilling, and cleanup duties
• Assist with grading around curbs, sidewalks, utilities, and structures
• Read grade stakes and follow site plans and supervisor direction
• Safely load, move, and distribute construction materials
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Identify and report mechanical or safety concerns
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with all site safety requirements
• Assist ground crews and perform additional labor duties when required

Finish Skid Steer Operator – Civil Construction

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator to join our civil construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating skid steer equipment to complete fine grading, site preparation, cleanup, and material handling on a variety of civil construction projects.The ideal applicant takes pride in producing quality work, operating equipment safely, and working effectively within a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate skid steer equipment for fine grading and finishing work
• Perform site preparation, leveling, backfilling, and cleanup duties
• Assist with grading around curbs, sidewalks, utilities, and structures
• Read grade stakes and follow site plans and supervisor direction
