Job description

The Lake Joseph Club is Hiring!

We are seeking a skilled and polished Fine Dining Server who can deliver impeccable service in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, menu offerings, and wine pairings, with the ability to anticipate and meet the needs of our guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality service of food and beverage to our Members and guests.
  2. Provide menu recommendations, describe dishes, and answer questions about ingredients and preparation.
  3. Upsell menu items, including wine and specials, to enhance guest experience.
  4. Provide banquet-style service when necessary.
  5. Ensure quality of food product delivery is maintained, as per Management standards.
  6. Setting and clearing of tables in dining rooms and function rooms.
  7. Ensuring the dining room is kept in a clean and well-maintained manner.
  8. Communicate and address guest concerns or issues to appropriate team members.
  9. Responsible for personal shift accounting procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in fine dining or high-end restaurants.
  3. Strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine pairings, and menu offerings.
  4. Sound knowledge of wines and food is a definite asset.
  5. Previous experience with the Squirrel POS system is an asset.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure and independently.
  7. A self-starter and team player.
  8. Smart Serve certification.
  9. Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (age 18).
  10. Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  11. Able to work throughout the fall for a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
