The Fine Arts Department at KPU offers Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor programs with a strong curriculum focusing on the ideas and techniques of producing contemporary art within a diverse and supportive liberal arts environment. This dynamic program focuses on the integration of studio work with theory and research. POSITION OVERVIEW:The Department of Fine Arts at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for a Non-Regular (NR-2) 50% position in Photography commencing September 1 2025 - August 31, 2026. This position is subject to budgetary availability.
The applicant should be able to teach the following courses:
- FINA 1170 - Introduction to Film Photography
- FINA 2270 - Digital Photography
- FINA 2170 - Intermediate Film Photography
- FINA 1135 - Introduction to Digital Media
The applicant must have the ability to teach introductory to intermediate film & digital photography courses, while the ability to teach introductory digital media courses will be considered an asset. Courses may be scheduled in three terms during the contract year (Fall, Spring, and Summer) at the Surrey campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have an MFA with a concentration in Photography, a current exhibition record, and experience in post-secondary teaching. Applicants will have the interest and ability to teach foundation and advanced courses at the undergraduate level. They will also have technical and safety knowledge of materials, processes, and equipment, including studio lighting, digital and darkroom practices.

This competition is for a maximum FTE of
50% (NR2). SALARY INFORMATION:Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
