Klohn Crippen Berger, a multinational, private engineering professional consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and tech savvy professional who is looking to grow their career in tax. As a team player, you are committed to providing the highest level of work with excellent attention to detail. You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic and are a quick learner.
Reporting to the Director, Global Tax, you will work closely with the Senior Tax Accountant & Analyst and other members of the Corporate Finance team. The primary responsibility is to support the accounting and analytical needs of the Tax Department to meet the local and foreign corporate tax reporting and compliance requirements. Knowledge of tax is not a requirement but a solid accounting background with a willingness to learn tax accounting is a must. This position offers the unique opportunity to improve your accounting and analytical skills as well as develop your knowledge in project and tax accounting including foreign country tax reporting and compliance.
This exciting role will give you the opportunity to:
- Prepare monthly G/L tax reconciliations and assist with the tax reporting for the Quarterly Management reports
- Prepare the sales tax filings (i.e. Canada, UK, US) and assist in review of working papers to support self-assessed PST remittance
- Prepare accounting working papers to support the preparation of the annual corporate income tax returns
- Assist with updating and maintaining the monthly income tax provisions, instalment payments, tax cash forecasting and accruals, foreign entity reporting, intercompany transactions reporting and foreign withholding tax analysis
- Assist with the Canada and foreign corporate income tax and information returns
- Assist with foreign country research and the preparation of foreign country exemption certificates for the global group of companies
- Apply technology effectively with your tech savvy skills to improve analytics and streamline spreadsheets in order to prepare accurate and complete work products
- Assist with research projects on tax or accounting related topics in local or foreign countries
- Support ad hoc Finance, Accounting and Tax projects as required
We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. For this role we would expect you to have:
- Enrolled in or completed post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Have or are working towards a CPA accounting designation
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (preferably in tax accounting)
- Excellent attention to detail and to producing quality work products.
- Initiative, work ethic and hands-on deadline-oriented work style

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work assignments while meeting deadlines with high levels of accountability and integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid accounting background a must (tax experience an asset)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft office and Excel skills (i.e. xlookup, pivot tables and Power BI).
- Positive attitude with a high degree of accountability and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team
The salary for this position is $63,000 to $75,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
